Welcome to the Midland Federation website.
Here you will find information on clubs, membership, the Treasure Act, in fact everything you will need to know about the hobby and the Midland Federation of Metal Detecting clubs. We, the committee of the Midland Federation, don’t purport to have all answers to everything about detecting but we hope that through the experiences built up over thirty five years of protecting the hobby here in the Midlands and through our active involvement with the National Council for Metal Detecting, of which we were founder members, will enable us to answer most questions on this most fascinating hobby.
We will endeavour to keep the site informative, interesting and at times educational and be topical to all shades of detectorists, whether you are newcomers to the hobby or old hands. To do this we need your help. We want clubs, their members and associate/and individual members to send us their news, articles, photographs, experiences etc. in fact anything detector related to publish on our website. All we ask is that the information hasn’t already been published anywhere before and that it meets the criteria set down by the committee of the Midland Federation.
If you have a rally, an exhibition or a guest speaker that you would like others to know about let us know and we will get it on to the site in a timely way. We want this website to reflect all that is good in the hobby and we retain the right to omit anything libellous, contentious or illegal. We know that there is an immense breadth of knowledge amongst our members and we want the opportunity to share that knowledge with others of like minds.
We hope that you can help us to help you and others as we move forward with this new and exciting venture.
Wishing you all the best and good hunting in 2018
